Happy Valentine's Day, y'all!! I hope your day is off to a wonderful start! I am so excited to finally get to share these photos with you! I teamed up with the darling Brooke of Brooke Taelor Photography again for this shoot, and had so much fun capturing one of our little Valentine's day traditions. As I mentioned previously, Valentine's Day isn't a major holiday in the Burke household, but one thing that has become a tradition, and is something that we enjoy doing together, is baking some sort of Valentine's day treat. Last year, we made chocolate covered strawberry cake balls, complete with sprinkles and conversation hearts, and they were DELICIOUS. The year before that, we made frosted brownies that looked like conversation hearts, but with our own little twist. For example, some of our brownies said things like, "Jesus loves you," and "You're ugly." Not because we thought anyone was ugly, but the brownie itself was pretty unfortunate looking. They tasted great though! Because Valentine's day is during the work week this year, we decided to celebrate on the weekend instead and make a special, Valentine's day inspired, pancake breakfast together! In our house, we have a little saying that goes, "Team Burke makes the dream work," and as you can tell by the smile on my face, it worked just to make these heart shaped pancakes. It's harder than it looks! We had so much fun enjoying our day, taking our time, and making breakfast and messes in the kitchen together. We had the most beautiful set up for our Valentine's Day breakfast thanks to The Heirloom Table. She created such a stunning, romantic Valentine's Day centerpiece for our tablescape, and it made our morning together even sweeter and even more special! If you are looking for unique, whimsical, and did I mention stunning floral arrangements, be sure to contact Mercedez of the Heirloom Table to make your floral design dreams come true! This was such a fun and special day we were able to spend together doing one of our favorite traditions, and even if we do nothing fancy on the day of, I'm just glad we'll be doing it together.
P.S. Thanks for putting up with all my sappy at home posts lately, y'all. I just can't help myself! Whatever your plans are today, whether they be with your spouse, your girlfriends, or yourself, I wish you nothing but contentment and joy! Little bitty love, Kimberly
