You've seen the inspiration, you've seen the idea boards, and now it's time to reveal our final revamped bedroom design from Havenly! After I received our first design, I was so impressed! There were only a few things throughout the design that I wanted to see differently. I asked my designer if we could incorporate an accent wall behind our bed to create more depth and interest. I also asked if we could see a different type of moulding there to ensure that style was what we really wanted to install. Although we loved what she put together, we opted not to purchase new furniture and chose to work with our existing furniture to cut down on our overall costs. Thinking creatively, we decided we would swap the furniture in our primary bedroom with that in our guest bedroom. This would allow us to make our space feel new without spending more to replace furniture we still like. My designer took our edits and went back to work. Once I received the second design, my husband and I realized we liked the original moulding best for the accent wall. Since we determined we were saving on the bed frame and nightstands, we opted for a new accent piece of furniture from the original design--the dresser. We also asked to see the original bench with the latest design to break up the wood tones. After the second revision, she gave us our 3D rendering of our bedroom redesign. It was perfect! My designer graciously took all of our edits, and was able to incorporate them into something beautiful. She knew just what style, design, and feel I was going for, and was able to create a fresh space that still feels like "us" and flows with the rest of our home. Our 3D rendering:Design 1:Design 2:Now that we have our finished design and product list, we will start budgeting for the items we need to purchase to help this vision become a reality. Over the summer, we hope to start the full project and bring this beautiful vision to life! What are the words that come to mind when you think of a getaway? Vacation, retreat, destination, relaxation... When you arrive at your getaway destination, what are the words that come to mind when you think of where you will rest? Fluffy, luxurious, comfortable, clean, inviting... Now that you have that image in your mind, do any of those words describe your bedroom--the primary place where you retreat every evening to rest your body, your mind, and your soul? If not, should they?! I think so, and that is another reason why I've chosen to focus on our primary bedroom refresh this year. I want my bedroom to truly feel like a place of comfort for me and my husband to retreat to at the end of our very busy, tiring days, and to wake up feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to face each new day with gladness. Today, I am so glad to share 3 idea boards for our bedroom refresh from my Havenly designer! Number 1: Classic and CalmingNumber 2: Soft TexturesNumber 3: Colonial Coastal PatternAll of these descriptors from these idea boards are additional words that I want to use to describe my bedroom. I know which idea board is my favorite, but I would love to hear yours!

I can't wait to continue working with my designer to turn these idea boards for my dream bedroom into a reality. As I sat down to write our Christmas cards last month, I began thinking about the big moments we were able to celebrate this past year. Some of those milestones were our 9th wedding anniversary, Brady's 2nd birthday, and the 3rd anniversary of moving into our renovated home. While that might not seem noteworthy for a Christmas card, it is for our family because of the amount of time, energy, and hard work we've poured into this house over the years to make it our home (Lord willing, forever!) Some of the major projects we accomplished in our home last year were starting our landscape design process, furnishing our living room, and renovating our pool and back patio. While I'm excited to continue some major projects like our landscaping this year, I'm also looking forward to refreshing a few spaces inside our home, particularly, our primary bedroom. When we moved into our new home, we simply brought all of our furnishings and accessories with us from our last home and made them fit. Now that it's been a few years and we've truly settled in, I feel like we could benefit from refreshing this space where we spend so much of our time recharging and relaxing, which is why I am so excited to share that I am a new Havenly brand ambassador! Havenly is a brilliant online interior design and home decorating resource. In-person services are also offered in select cities such as Austin, Dallas, Houston, Denver/Boulder, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, DC, and Seattle. As a brand ambassador, I will be going through their design service and working one-on-one with a personal designer of my choosing to refresh our primary bedroom. I am so excited to take you along with me on this journey from the style quiz all the way to the finished product!
