Now that I am nearing my third trimester (I can't believe that!), I am getting more and more excited to furnish and decorate baby boy's nursery! Maybe this is when they say the "nesting" phase officially begins, but I am already having so much fun seeing my ideas and inspiration come together.

The theme for our nursery is Noah's Ark meets Little Explorer. Think animals, clouds, waves, and the earth. I knew I wanted to come up with something unique and fun for a baby boy's room, and I fell in love with this colorful bedding from Pehr as soon as I came across it. When I realized how I could style it with an around the world, travel theme, I was sold! Once I found our bedding and decided on the theme, we started our search for the perfect nursery furniture.
I scoured a few different sites like Crate & Kids, Buy Buy Baby, and Pottery Barn Kids, and ultimately was drawn to the more classic styles at Pottery Barn Kids. I first saw the Rory collection in store and loved the details and finish. We chose the Rory convertible crib and matching dresser with the changing topper. The crib already came in last weekend, so we put it together and I couldn't love it more! That is, until our sweet baby boy is actually asleep in it. It is made of solid wood, is Greengaurd Gold certified, and I know I won't tire of this style or color for years to come. This was also one of the key deciding factors for purchasing a durable, neutral set that would withstand trends so I can reuse it for any future babies we may have. We also ordered the Minna rocking chair in Slubby Chenille Fog, and I can't wait for it to arrive and to love on our baby boy in it. Some of the perfect finishing touches include the navy bookshelves, animal rocker, toy chest, and pieces for the gallery wall like a personalized pennant, and themed artwork. This has truly been such a fun process, and I can't wait to get the missing pieces in to finish his nursery. Love, Kimberly
