I am so excited to bring you all our very first before and after in our house--the half bathroom! This is the smallest space (besides the pantry) in our home, so it's no surprise it was the first to be completely finished and decorated.

I'm excited to finally share the design and mood board for the second most used space in our home, the family room! Now that our "secret" is out about our little love on the way, you can see why we have been more motivated to get these final interior house projects finished and get our home really ready for our growing family.
Because we spend so much time in here, and will continue to do so with a new baby, our family room needed some extra attention. We needed new furniture that would allow for a better use of our space within the existing layout, and that would highlight the painted brick fireplace while allowing you to still watch TV. During their "Buy More, Save More" sale, we recently purchased cozy, family-friendly furniture from Pottery Barn. We chose the PB Comfort Grand Armchairs and Grand Sofa in a performance fabric (Heathered Tweed in Pebble) so that it would withstand anything life (and pets and babies) throw at it. I love that these pieces will stand the test of time, both in style and durability. ![]() Hello friends, hello family, and hello 2020! It's hard to believe another year has passed and a new decade has begun, but when you add in a complete house renovation and moves, it's really not that surprising. Now that the holidays have come and gone, and the Christmas decorations have come down, it's officially time to start the new year fresh and rejuvenated and ready to work! As I have mentioned before, I wanted to post more regular updates of our house progress as they took place, but all of our efforts and energy went directly into the house and keeping up with our everyday lives. Now that things are a bit more settled, I'm excited to finally share more details behind the design of our house, starting with the heart of our home--the kitchen! The kitchen was probably one of the biggest transformations in our home and where a large portion of our renovation budget went. The kitchen is not only a major focal point of the house, but besides our master bedroom, it is also one of the most used and beloved spaces. Below you can see images I found during the renovation process that served as inspiration for the project and helped bring my vision together, including items that have been utilized in the kitchen design. *Open the image above in a new tab for a larger, detailed view*
An overall theme for our house is traditional coastal farmhouse, so in the heart of our home you will see almost all of these features. Features like coastal colors and textiles, bright, airy spaces filled with natural light, warm wood accents, stainless steel appliances, and more traditional chrome fixtures. We still have a few DIY projects to complete this space, such as floating shelves, built in cookbook and wine shelves, and a banquette for our breakfast nook. These are a few of the projects at the top of our 2020 to do list. Once these are complete, this space will be ready for its big reveal! I can't wait to finally complete this space, and share the full reveal with you all in the coming months! Not to mention new content like cooking and entertaining in this space, which are some of my very favorite things. Happy new year! Love, Kimberly |
